newsletter June 2003
Chairman's Report …
I hope everyone’s enjoying the season, whether you are a player or supporter. Both the 1st and 2nd teams have had some good wins but also some disappointing defeats. At the time of writing, the 1st team are still in the Sunday cup and the 2nd team are still in the evening cup. Your support is appreciated.
Thanks to Chris H. for the excellent condition of the ground this year. We may have forgotten but it was very wet at the beginning of the season. And thanks to all those people who have helped with jobs around the ground and in the clubhouse. Some get mentioned, a lot don’t. If you feel you could help even if it’s only a little bit, please get in touch with the usual suspects. For instance, some assistance with junior coaching would be particularly useful.
The club is continuing to improve and this year, on top of the normal expenditure, has spent an additional £1000 on some covers. This has left us temporarily a bit short of cash. Please help us to recoup these costs by promptly paying your yearly subs and by supporting Club events, the next being a Jumble Sale followed by The Hare Cup final and then the Hog Roast. Details of these are given elsewhere in this newsletter. Please make a conscious effort to be part of these events
Thank you for your support
Mark

Donations and Thanks
“Thank You” must be said, on behalf of the Cricket Club, to Paul Wilman for donating the benches which are now positioned around the perimeter of the ground. I'm sure you will agree, they look fantastic.
Also "Thank You" to Brian Tunstall for offering his time and services in wiring up the electically operated clock which Keith Ellis recently donated.
This sort of kindness and generosity does not go without recognition and the Club and its members are greatly appreciative. Thank you.

I know it seems a long time away and we are still in the middle of summer - but just a thought - would anyone be interested in having a Christmas get together - Meal or Meal and Dance, Buffet, Other suggestions ??
If so could you let Mark or Beryl know sooner rather than later what you would like to do to enable us to get something organised or booked.
